Cough Suppressant, Expectorant Uses Temporarily relieves: cough due to a common cold; loosen phlegm to rid the bronchial passageways of bothersome mucus. Directions: Use Tablespoon (TBSP) or dose cup. Under 2 yrs (Under 28 lbs.): Ask a doctor. 2-5 yrs: 1/2 TBSP or 7 1/2 mL. 6-11 yrs: 1 TBSP or 15 mL. 12 yrs. and older: 2 TBSP or 30 mL. Repeat every 4 hours, not to exceed 6 doses per day.
Warnings: Do not use: if you are on a sodium-restricted diet; if you are now taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (certain drugs for depression, psychiatric or emotional conditions, or Parkinson's disease), or for 2 weeks after stopping the MAOI drug. If you do not know if your prescription drug contains an MAOI, ask a doctor or pharmacist before taking this product. Ask a doctor before use if you have: chronic bronchitis, asthma, emphysema, excessive phlegm (mucus), breathing problems, persistent or chronic cough, cough associated with smoking. Stop use and ask a doctor if cough lasts more than 7 days, comes back, or occurs with fever, rash, or headache that lasts. These could be signs of a serious condition. If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use. Make sure this product is kept well out of the reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.
