Cough Suppressant, Fever Reducer, Nasal Decongestant, Pain Reliever Uses Temporarily relieves common cold/flu symptoms: minor aches, sore throat pain, pains, fever, headache, nasal congestion, muscular aches, cough. Directions: Use teaspoon (tsp), tablespoon (TBSP) or dose cup: under 6 yrs: ask a doctor. 6-11 yrs: 1 TBSP or 3 tsp or 15 mL. 12 yrs and older: 2 TBSP or 6 tsp or 30 mL. Repeat every 4 hours, not to exceed 4 doses per day or use as directed by a doctor. If taking NyQuil and DayQuil, limit total to 4 doses per day.
Warnings: Alcohol warning: If you consume 3 or more alcoholic drinks every day, ask your doctor whether you should take acetaminophen or other pain relievers/fever reducers. Acetaminophen may cause liver damage. Sore throat warning: Severe or persistent sore throat or sore throat that occurs with high fever, headache, rash, nausea, and vomiting may be serious. Ask a doctor right away. Do not use more than 2 days or give to children under 6 years of age unless directed by a doctor. Do not use if you are on a sodium-restricted diet; if you are now taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (certain drugs for depression, psychiatric or emotional conditions, or Parkinson's disease), or for 2 weeks after stopping the MAOI drug. If you do not know if your prescription drug contains an MAOI, ask a doctor or pharmacist before taking this product. Ask a doctor before use if you have: heart disease, asthma, emphysema, thyroid disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, cough associated with smoking; excessive phlegm (mucus), breathing problems, persistent or chronic cough, trouble urinating due to enlarged prostate gland. When using this product: do not use more than directed; avoid alcoholic drinks; do not use with other products containing acetaminophen. Stop use and ask a doctor if: you get nervous, dizzy or sleepless; fever gets worse or lasts more than 3 days; new symptoms occur; symptoms do not get better within 7 days; you need to use more than 7 days (adults) or 5 days (children); cough lasts more than 7 days (adults) or 5 days (children), comes back, or occurs with fever, rash, or headache that lasts. These could be signs of a serious condition. If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use. Make sure this product is kept well out of the reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away. Quick medical attention is critical for adults as well as for children even if you do not notice any signs or symptoms.
